Nissan will need a new GT-R, but who should help build it if not Honda?

The halo GT-R is at the end of the road, and the Nissan Z is not entirely new. In fact, almost everything has stagnated, and Nissan needs help. But according to reports out of Japan this week, Honda and Nissan may not go through with their planned merger. The rumor mill says Nissan wants to maintain control of its own destiny, and other entities may be able to provide that environment. Reality aside, in a perfect world, which automaker (Japanese or otherwise) would be the best new partner for Nissan to create the next GT-R with; which brand has the tools to help Nissan build the “budget” hypercar of the next decade?
