The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N (and 2025 Kia EV6 GT) are among the only electric vehicles to simulate gears, like an internal combustion engine car. The car’s N e-Shift feature can pretend to be an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, complete with fake engine sounds, pauses in power delivery during shifts, and a redline that will cause the acceleration to end if you hit it.
